This loosely follows the concept of a story model from Andrew Harrison - highly recommended.
To help generalise what we look at, at The Grid, we use the concept of a lens that acts as a way to capture what’s relevant to that user. It is helpful to think of this in first principles thinking.
There are currently 4 lenses that we use at the Grid:
Jerry walks up to the store.... He sees it through a profile lens, with it contains many things:
What currency they support
Jerry walks into the store. He browses different products in different tagged areas of the store, sometimes wanting to learn more:
How does it describe it’s self?
Jerry really enjoy his experience at the store & also needs to pay, he checks which assets they support or may even have issued. Sometimes, if I have the right collectable, I get a 10% discount:
What currencies are supported here? Did this place issue their own asset? Are they are the same network?
Jerry wanted to first check that this was legit, he wanted to check if it was an official entity:
What is the local registration of this business? What is the structure behind it? What licences do they have?
